Alas, at 388,801 miles on January 24th of 2021, reverse gear disappeared from my GM 5L40-e transmission without a trace of noise, mechanical action or change in engine RPM. All I did was try to back out of a parking space after starting the engine and got zip, zero, nada......
As I observed the deepening crack in the leather of the driver's seat, I said thank you and take a rest and proceeded to find my next X5, a lovely sapphire black 2016 F15 x35i with the luxury trim package
And as a bonus, I found a buyer for the 2002 E53
I think he's excited to get the OEM hitch and wiring harness, rust free body and the roof rail cross bars.
