Ah, no worries. I was at 7000RPM two weeks ago more than a couple of times merging into I35 traffic with 387,000 miles on the engine. It's never the internals that concern me with the engine as long as I know I've got sufficient oil pressure. It's the accessories that will get you, like water pumps and alternators. Besides, those higher fuel flows help clean the intake valves.
