Yep, very familiar with that - but I think UAN was talking about an RS232 to USB converter to be used to connect an RS232 serial (DB9) version of BMW Scanner...
BTW, the FTDI FT232RL chip in my INPA cable doesn't support DCAN - it only supports K-Line. You don't need DCAN with an E53 - there is no CAN bus on the diag port.
