So far, better than expected.
We took the truck to my in-laws as I am finishing a bathroom remodel over there and the i-drive was starting get really wonky, rebooting constantly and finally losing all memory. I got fed up so sent the wife to go pick up a battery while she and her sister were out getting some finishing touches. Installed it and registered it (fortunately I had Carly in the truck) there in the driveway. 3 days since I put it in (105ah AGM from O'Reillys) and so far so good. Over 200 miles with no more electrical weirdness. Codes have all begun clearing themselves, which is great.
I had an appt to drop the truck off yesterday at BMW but the CEL turned itself off right after I washed it about a mile from the dealership. I hate dropping off a dirty car because they will wash it. Plus, I enjoy dropping off a clean car vs. a dirty one. The truck was down to one code in the DME:
24BB00 - Zero quantity adaptation injector cylinder 1: permissible filtered control duration too high
So, I cancelled my appt when I got there and told them I'll be back if it returns. The SA was in agreement that the battery replacement would cure most, if not all, the issues. The battery was original and dated week 39 of 2015.
As a side I cleaned out a bunch of sand from the battery compartment area. Guess the PO used to go to the coast frequently.
