It's confusing. And complicated. I feel your pain. I did at least a month of reading before attempting to clear the errors via editing the zcs. Even after all that reading clavurion was a big help in dealing with the special circumstance of having a 4.8is and coding out ehc2.

I now have a grasp on what all this means. I do have some more questions:
I’ve been reading and studying like crazy. That line in Clavurion’s post is the line that deletes the EHC? This is done in text editor? You had mentioned you had to recode the truck from 4.8 to 4.4. Was this necessary to get the ehc module delete to stick?
After I get this done I will compile a diy write up for all of the future peeps that will need to do this mod.
