Looks like it was the same root cause as the OP - splice underneath the fuse box in the rear right quarter panel.
Trying to get the work covered under a TSB/SIB or something, hopefully.
OP - Do you know if there was some TSB/SIB for this particular splice?

Good updates from both the OP and yourself. Is this splice in every E70 or is it related to some sort of package/option?
