As @UAL noticed the flap is worn in this case definitely use one of the aluminum kits. Vs. the awr-fix repair in this case.

It is Faaaaar Superior to new. The original had several design flaws that don't exist in the repair kit.

My repair will get it operational while waiting on shipping though.

When I replace intake boot on M54 my go-to removal method is a razor blade. The factory installs the clamp from the bottom and it's nearly impossible to access unless you go THROUGH the boot.

I found out too late the knock off boot had rings on the outside but wasn't corrugated So I would not bend without kinking.

I already cut the old one in three pieces for removal so I used superglue to reassemble and if worked perfectly until the OEM replacement came (including the 3-4 tears in the small arm that was the reason for replacing in the first place.
