Ended up grabbing a new unit from BMA. The more I looked at the old unit, I could see how badly it was worn - worn enough that rebuilding it wasn't going to be worth it. My DISA has over 220k on it and it showed. When I compared against a new unit, I could see how badly it was worn. I'm surprised my X ran at all.
Also, replacing my DISA fixed another issue I had with stuttering on acceleration...it all makes sense now....
