Just to update in case anyone else has these issues in the future......
After talking to a couple BMW diesel mechanic friends I decided to replace the seals on the charge pipe going from the turbo to the intercooler. I replaced those Tuesday and in doing so found that my CCV hose had 3 small cracks, 1 between each rib. This is most likely the culprit because the seals on the charge pipe seemed perfectly fine. So I have a new CCV hose on order from tune my euro and just have a piece of coolant hose in there now.
