We sold our E53 a few months ago, and have been searching for an E70 35i for over 6 months. During that time, I have seen probably a dozen 35i for sale in the CT/NY area for $5-6k requiring a total engine replacement.

This is making me reconsider if a 35i is really a good idea. I haven't seen that kind of engine failure rate for any other models. Is there a widespread issue hitting these cars at 100k miles?
