How far did you get during removal? The valley pan pipes I seem to recall attaching to the back of the water pump on the m62 motors I've worked on. They were pretty corroded and needed refurbishing before they would make a water tight seal but shouldn't be disrupted until you actually pull the pump.
If you loosened the pump bolts and then tightened back up, then good chance valley pan pipes.
If not; did you loosen any heater hose fittings or were you following step by step that included pulling the drain plug on the side of the block? (It's a step in the chain guides replace job).

We got to the part of loosening the belt tensioner but we realized we were trying to loosen it the wrong way lol, I took it to a shop and they said I have a broken "Y" pipe which I'm assuming is where the coolant was coming from. They're gonna be replacing my water pump, thermostat, the broken pipe, a small pipe behind the water pump, and some gaskets involved with these issues.
