The OP is new to this forum, with 2 posts and is likely new to the E53 chassis. By his own admission "I really have no clue what I am doing" (Post #1) He doesn't know what he is doing. We don't know his skill level, but it doesn't sound too strong..But he wants to learn, that's great...

He already tried swapping the FSU and pulling fuses to identify his draw. I felt Upallnight was was doing him a favor by suggesting he leave it to pro...and I still think that was decent advice in this case. I have seen a lot of inexperienced people waste a ton of time and $$ on parts and tools going down various rabbit holes. sometimes they even make the problem worse.

Many of you disagree with that advice...Okay, let's move on...
