To add volume and reduce noise just add a tank.

Put the compressor outside run a hose to the tank (3gal prob plenty big enough) and run your tools from the pig tank.

I made this setup for a friend so he could use his giant compressor in his garage in his house without losing pressure from the 100' hose but the concept works great to eliminate pressure drop from a small compressor and coincidentally let's you move the compressor away from you for sound isolation.

Add a valve where you connect the hose into the pig tank or the whole tank vents when you unplug (lesson learned the hard way) and add a regulator on the exit port.

That way you can set the compressor a little higher to compensate for loss on the hose.

We did similar when running high volume air tools such as palm sander to connect two 5 gal compressors in parallel. Works great.

Added bonus; you can use the pig tank alone to do minor jobs. Do some tests you might be able to change a wheel or at least break all the lugs free to do a roadside wheel change.
