Axles fail very very very slowly. I would not fault somebody's choice to use an inexpensive one if they DIY and get the idea they are likely sending another job to their future self.

If you treat the boot with some rubber treatment maybe every couple years the boots will likely our live the car.

I used to use Atp at-205 but it seems to have disappeared from the market.

You sold me on doing the outer joints. I’m going to order them tonight. And as others have said, 303 is the best. I used it to revitalize the rubber and plastic on the car and we’ll as my hot tub, and other projects through the years.
