I think you will be very happy with the electric fan. I am extremely pleased with the one I have had for many years. Suggest you wire it so it runs after key is off as it address heat soak that way. No problem with the battery. I set mine so that it comes on just before the front pusher fan comes on. While there are many different opinions you gain some HP and TQ. In addition, the water pump should last longer.
