planned wiring for fan

bcredliner- where did you get your switched power source from, or is it entirely controlled by the thermoswitch? I usually find a non-critical power source underhood (switched on by ignition in acc, run, or start)(85) to power the relay, and I'll use the jumper posts already there for the main power(30) and ground(86).

The optional override switch(also 85), will be tied to the cigarette lighter (which powers off, "sleeps", after 16 minutes, so if I choose to, I'll switch it on to let the fan run 16 minutes after the engine's off.

So, if I can't find a switched power source underhood, I'll tie (85) back into (30), and let the thermoswitch control it all by temperature (but I'm fearful that it might fail, and leave the fan running for hours). I've always been able to locate switched power underhood before, but it's obscured in the X5.

UPDATED WIRING: Top drawing is info that came with the relay kit, second drawing is how I first installed it (bad manual switch was replaced), and third drawing shows the final wiring with switched power and adjustable thermostatic switch added.
