No need to replace the entire (expensive) lamp assembly - you can simply replace the 12v 10W halogen (BA9S) bulb itself, for a couple of dollars.

I have used no-name and
Osram bulbs (#64113) but the best I've found so far (in terms of performance and longevity) are the
Flosser 12v 10W BA9S Halogen bulbs (#4010).
Remeber that these are halogen bulbs and so need to be kept clean. Wipe them clean with isopropyl alcohol once you've fitteed them to the reflector.
