I took my 214's off my car, got tyres removed, and was going to get some repairs. All 4 have the varnish flaking in various spots, mostly around the centre cap. The repairer wants 450$/wheel.
Has anyone done DIY repair of the clearcoat? Removing the old clearcoat without damaging the brushed aluminium texture underneath is something I'm still stumped on...

The car's a 2010 model, so spending 1800$ to redo the wheels isn't something the boss (Mrs) is going to accept!
Any advice? (getting a new Mrs is not an option
)
