Those infamously get rusty and stop bending at the elbow. I think you need a couple new bars. Look them up on realoem.com and buy from Fcpeuro

It's called a regulating rod and there are two sizes listed for e70 : 71.5 and 80.4. Figure out which you have and order one for each side.
