Keep in mind that an "OD" isnt loaded (ie weight of the car on the tire) whereas the 'revs per mile' includes deflection when the tire is loaded.
Mismatch in the revs/mile is precisely what the differential 'sees'.. too much, it is damaged. |
So I went on to Tire Rack, looked up the revs/mile on the current 18's tires and the tires mounted on the 20's, and found it's 713 on current 18's, and 726 on the 20's. So if I understand correct, that's a 1.8% difference (13/713). Is that much of a mismatch going to be a problem?
