The stiff sidewall worked ok for me did not hurt my cornering and def helped load carrying.

I drove on tires using screws as a tire plug (remove screw that punctured tire, install screw with bigger head to seal leak) and used plastic temporary tire plugs long term, something I'd not have done without run on flat.
