I do agree the DWS sidewalls are softer than the PSAS3/4s. I like the compromise you get from the Extremecontac Sports but they have never lasted me longer than 24ish thousand miles which is comparable to the PSS. You're right, if you dont use up the PSS it will go bad on you which the Contis dont do. I cant speak to the LX or any other touring type tires, thinking on it i actually dont think I've ever owned a set of touring tires. It's always either been UHPs or ATs i currently have Aturos on my 4.6Is which came on it from the PO, they are surprisingly good but no comparison to the Extremecontact sports.
