Yes, you can get COVID if you have been vaccinated, however, that has rarely happened and is statistically insignificant. It is clearly not a valid reason to refuse vaccination. COVID vaccination options are all over 85% effective in preventing Covid infection. COVID vaccines obviously prevent COVID infection in all but a very very very few cases.
Yes, a vaccinated individual can carry the virus and infect others. That is the reason that even those vaccinated should be wearing masks in select circumstances.
The position of the current or the past administration has nothing to do with what we should do to get the virus under control. It is the position of medical experts around the world that is important. That research is crystal clear. Masks and vaccinations are vital to fight Covid 19, including the Delta variant. Political websites are not the way to learn about how we do our part to fight COVID. This should not be viewed as a political issue. It is a health crisis.
Those following the guidelines are not sheep. They are fact based informed individuals protecting their health, that of their loved ones and you. We should not blindly follow the soothsayers but look at both sides and make an informed decision. It is so easy and painless to be vaccinated and wear a mask. I don't see the downside.
I see you are in Canada. Canada has been more successful curbing the virus. Canada acknowledged the Covid threat very early on and implemented testing, the use of masks, appropriate mandates and vaccinations, as knowledge from research developed, as experts found the way out of the woods.
