MrBlonde is on a distinguished road
Sudden failure: Bluetooth, TV, CD Changer, Console USB.

Hi Xoutposters, I would greatly appreciate any hints, tips or advice on resolving some issues that have suddenly appeared in my X5.

Basic info: E70 X5 Model Year 2010 (pre-LCI) xDrive 35d

Options: Include 609 (8.8" screen), 6FL (USB/Audio Interface in Centre Console), 644 (Prep. for mobile phone with BT).

Issues:
After a particularly heavy rainstorm recently I noticed there had been some water ingress through the panoramic sunroof down the passenger side rear window pillar.

1. Not long after that I suddenly lost Bluetooth connectivity to my mobile phone. The "Bluetooth" checkbox in the "Telephone" menu just can't be ticked any more and the Bluetooth never turns on. Just an endless spinning circle.

So I can't use my mobile phone through bluetooth which is a real problem.

2. I lost connection to the iPod I have in my centre console hooked up with a "Y-cable" to the USB/Audio ports (That's 6FL, right?). Under the 'External Devices" menu the USB symbol is showing as "Not connected". Naturally I've double and triple checked the USB and jack connections aren't lose, nor the iPod connection.

So I can't listen to the million and one songs I have loaded onto my iPod. I specifically purchased the iPod and the Y-cable to have this music setup in my car so it's galling.

3. While the Radio and in-dashboard CD player are still working just fine, the CD Changer can no longer "see" or play any of the 6 CDs I have loaded into the Changer cartridge. I've ejected and re-loaded them all to verify. Note that the functionality to save the CD songs to the hard drive still works just fine.

4. The TV functionality does not work. No biggie but part of the diagnostic.

So I've done some research and reading on here and elsewhere and I understand it could be anything from a blown fuse, to a bad TCU or MULF module or Christ knows what.

Before I pay someone to diagnose the issue(s) here I'd love to get a better understanding of what could be wrong, and maybe even narrow things down a bit first.

If I've got a bad MULF module I think I'd probably rather get a Combox retrofit to gain enhanced BT so I can stream music from my phone, rather than to pay for another MULF. My understanding is that a Combox replaces the TCU and MULF, is that correct? And that a new Combox would give me streaming music and solve a potential bad MULF issue?

Any advice welcome!
