Perhaps not so durable, with the driveline new or rebuilt. How about "survivor" X5's, with all original drivetrains, still on the road?
As far as I can tell, mine has the original engine, trans, transfer case, and associated parts, with 210k miles. The suspension, cooling, and peripheral parts (SAP, windshield, O2 sensors & exhaust, hubs & wheel bearings) though, have been renewed at some time over the last 20 years.
Oh, and the Vanos and chains & guides are renewed, only a few months ago. However, looks like the DISA and CCV have been neglected!
