100% agree regarding confidence, feels bad man. Sitting at 120k miles right now.

I've got a Schwaben scan tool, which is just a rebranded Foxwell NT510 scanner. I can get to the EGS and see BMW specific codes, so it's not a matter of not having visibility.

I'm just torn now between dropping $3,500+ at a shop to keep my original transmission in the car or grabbing a lower mileage one and essentially doing the exact same thing you've just done. Searching this morning, I found an 80k mile transmission on eBay for $1,000 shipped and it is the exact same model number as mine, so swapping the mechatronic is all that would be needed. Add a new starter, some mounts & other miscellaneous odds and ends and I'm probably $1,500 all in to do this myself.

I know your project took significantly longer than originally planned... what were the key drivers in that (other than the DPF removal)? Did the actual process of removing and installing go relatively quickly? You mentioned keeping the torque converter lined up while installing was a bear... any tips?
