P1093 (Solved)

I was getting a p1093 code on my 06 m54 powered e53. Started last week. Thought maybe the torn intake boot I found was the culprit, but a vacuum leak doesn't usually generate the p1093. Anyway, replaced it. Code still active.

P1093 code is a real pita to troubleshoot. So, I'm like I'll record some fuel trim logs and see what's up.

Before I do that though the fuel line broke off the fuel pump. Nipple snapped right off. It's fine though because a few weeks ago I bought a new pump. Its something I've eventuality had to replace on every bmw I've fixed up. So, I preemptively got it.

Anyway, popped the broke one out, popped the new one in. Go for a test drive. As I'm driving the SEL goes out. Get home and check for active codes. None.

P1093 gone.

I read a bad pump could be one thing that causes that code. Pretty ironic the housing broke prompting me to replace it.

Other causes are bad injectors, oxygen sensors, leaking exhaust fittings....

So, yeah. That's my input on what caused mine.
