the bumper bolts are in fact fused...however, I've pulled off the bumper from 3 different Xs that had the regular bolts without any issues. Maybe they updated the design. The Wife's is an 04 and the others were 05+
I guess I'm talking more so in tight spaces. Starter and the actuator motor bolts immediately come to mind. You strip those and the world becomes a horrible place.
I find with the torx if you're not 100% dead on straight they are EXTREMELY prone to stripping vs the regular bolts being more tolerant.
