Make sure you keep the power steering pump..I think it is an X5-only part number and a new Genuine BMW reman is $600 ( A Bosch rebuilt is $300).

If you are pulling the engine, maybe you keep the steering rack also...

I am chasing down a groaning power steering system and have already replaced the power steering pump, reservoir and one hose...more hoses to come..
