^Ouch. I guess the 5spd makes a big difference. Actually, wonder how much of that difference is the trans vs. the engine evolution to the N62 and Xdrive system.

You know, I have no idea. I don't pay attention to gearing in AWD vehicles. Only RWD manuals.

Yeah, you guys have it rough around the world. Gas hits $7+/gallon here (outside of California) and politicians heads might start to roll.

Looks like ~19mpg highway and 16-17 combined is the norm for these beasts then. Best tank I ever got out of it was when it was first purchased on the way back from Cali. 20.76mpg calculated and 495 miles on the tank.
