You getting a code for this? I hope it's not a common failure because I just did a whole rehab of mine (complete CCV setup, VCG, 4 front head bolts were broken) and did not replace that while in there...

I took it to our local BMW dealer and paid an hour labor ($189) diagnostic charge to determine the noise source. They said it is the secondary DISA. I was going to replace both as I suspected it was either a DISA or the vacuum pump based on similar YouTube videos of the noise. Didn't want to continue throwing money and parts at the problem.
