I'll let you know how I fare; I think the idea with the BMW Scanner route is that the car will still have the suspension code present but the scanner will tell the code not to display on the dash somehow, which is all I really care about. I've never used it either, but that's just what I understood from my research so far.
Even if/when I sell the vehicle, I'll communicate that the air suspension has been converted to coils and that all of the plumbing is still in place. I'm even keeping the air springs because they were still in good shape.
