• 1) i'd have to find one nearby, that would even have a compatible match (no idea of "foreign car parts" recycling in my area),
• 2) my previous experiences (over many years) with local recycler yards has been very spotty, sometimes the cars were there, other times not, and seldom with parts I could use,
• 3) local yards aren't well-organized, but are swampy & snakey (not my preferred hunting grounds),
• 4) it's really hot out there, for an old guy with bad parts, to look for car parts,
• 5) I'd probably have to explore for hours, using $$ of gasoline (+ possible entrance fees to search),
• 6) the MAF at the junkyards may or may not be functional, so a semi-quality, cheap unit may be a better choice (I'd probably spend more on just trying to find one)

I'll take a chance on the new, cheap one, based on the recommendation. I don't 100% believe that the MAF is the problem, so this is just a quick way to see if there is a MAF element involved.
