The real solution, almost always, lies somewhere in the middle. Unfortunately we swing from one extreme to the other as the political winds take us so we never get to a homeostasis where both sides agree to disagree while still enjoying getting a portion of what they wanted/believe in. People are greedy, what can you say, it's base human nature/instinct.
Being aware of "no man is an island" as true, I would still love a piece of land 20-50 miles outside of town so as to not have to bow to city authorities or deal with the mouth-breathers (again, on both sides) so often. But, with land prices being what they are, and still needing a school system for the kids, we are here in town for the foreseeable future. Homeschooling was doable with one kid, but not with both of them now.

Yeah! That's true. Good point--for both sides!
But there is a stark difference when the MSM will say idiotic things like "fiery, but mostly peaceful" during certain lead protests. The trucker-rally was not violent nor did anyone burn anything down (that I'm aware of).
Your last comment of living outside of town. I 100% agree with that. But where I'm at, it's totally frustrating how one county gets to dictate ALL of the state's policy. It's BS and completely non-representative. Going that 20 to 50 miles outside of town is completely different. Yet I'm forced to abide by policy that is not even applicable regardless of the vote because it doesn't have the density. It's ridiculous.
