The US OEM hitch I believe is rated at around 6000 lbs. In terms of construction, it is definitely stout, especially compared to the aftermarket options available here (Curt, Draw-Tite, etc.) I looked at all of them and though they were much cheaper, I just didn't like the engineering and design of them.

Personally, I have no intention of towing anywhere near that weight on a 17 year old car with a 3-litre 6-cylinder engine. I anticipate nothing more than a couple of motorcycles, scooters, or a load of compost for the garden every now and then. Light duty for sure. :-)

But I've missed having the ability to haul a trailer as needed, and our other trailer-hauling "work car" is fast approaching 400K miles, and may be past the point where it makes economic sense to keep it running.

US ball sizes are generally either 1 7/8" or 2" and can be changed out as needed.

Best regards,

Chris
