No raspy ticky noise from my recent x-pipe install, but for me, it's also not enough of a perceptible sound improvement. There is a sound improvement when the engine and exhaust are cold, but it disappears as the engine warms. However, I've been doing all my listening from the driver's seat. It might sound different from the rear of the vehicle.
