You can open the hood though the kidney but you need to cut a small hole in the skirt around the radiator

Bottom right side of the motor. A challenge to get to without removing the stiffener plate, or the right wheel well liner. Although I did change mine a few months ago without removing the plate. Realistically I would have saved time by removing it though. Trying to shortcut Bentley rarely works out for me.
