The door handle carrier is an known weak point and Andrew has an excellent $12 fix for them to prevent them from ever breaking again. If it is the lock actuators, I don't recall there being much discussion of those on here. I have 274,000 miles on my X and I've never had an issue with them.

actually, andrewwynn has very good solutions on that thread for both the DHC as well as the actuator. I was looking for the actuator fix.
