2 hrs later after having to saw the bolts off as the las garage that replaced them put cheap parts on I also found that the lower control arm ball joint was nearly falling apart. Didn’t have a spare so replaced it the next day.
Then the steering wheel was on the p!ss so ended up adjusting the track arms bit by bit until it was straight..
Need to get it aligned next week but it does drive straight and doesn’t pull.
All this is from pot holes in British roads.
Still have to do the other side as something is knocking slightly.

You can get a decent alignment with a string wrapped around the fastest part of the wheels. Put a 2mm spacer at the front of the fattest part of front and back wheels and dial the wheels until string is straight. It'll be slightly toe in 0.15°.
