I think you’re on to something, I touched the DME harness and the gong went off in the car. Coincidental timing or the culprit. I suspect water is getting into that wiring somehow between the junction by the IVM and the DME.
happen to know if there is a ground wire running through that wiring sleeve that runs over the top of the engine, causing a potential short to ground?
RE: the posts about the gutter systems and engine bay drains, I have cleaned these thoroughly, water is definitely not standing in there although it had been earlier when I started diagnosing this issue.
