When my E53 had a soaked front left carpet, due to a plugged & kinked A-pillar drain tube https://xoutpost.com/bmw-sav-forums/...ide-floor.html, I covered the X5 with a tarp (to prevent more water incoming) and ran a 600 watt heater and a 11" fan (to dry out the saturated carpet) for 3.5 days, before the weather was dry and the carpet was, too.

I did leave a window cracked to allow excessive heat out during the day, and just ran the fan at night (I was checking the temperature and dryness of the carpet several times each day, to be safe).

I was fortunate that my sunroof (non-pano) was the only source of water, having extensively checked all the "usual suspects" that get wet in an X5, so when I cleared the drain(s) & lubed and tested the sunroof for smooth operation, I then sealed it with paint protection film and removed the fuse (F58), so I can sleep at night during thunderstorms. Never liked sunroofs, so no loss; the paint protection film is unnoticeable under my roofrack, and I'll renew it in a couple more years (the ppf on my '09 HHR Panel's rear fenders is still OK, after all these years and 175000 miles).

It's been nearly two years since then, so I'd expect any connection or module that might've gotten wet would've already started malfunctioning already; must've been lucky...good luck in your case, Bananafone.
