I replaced mine a few month’s ago too and haven’t had any issues. I seem to recall they are side-specific? Could you have reversed them? I do recall a gasket as well, and that a large socket was needed to get to the nut, which was a pain to tighten as the whole thing wasn’t secure and stable during tightening until it was basically tight (trying to crank it down on a curved surface). Could yours be off center slightly?
