Like said check the fueling issue first for potential in tank fuel pump failure by checking the levels from cluster hidden menu or just by filling up with at least 10 litres. When you turn ignition to pos. 2 can you hear the pumps (in tank and inline) running and are there air bubbles on the engine bay fuel line (if pre-facelift).
Very very unlikely ignition switch has anything to do with stalling/no start situation.

Its the pre facelift, But from my knowledge they both ran the same pumps and set up, RealOEM seems to confirm this also unless I'm missing something all ranges of the E53 3.0D used the same gear.
I mentioned above it's been tested for any sound with ears on the sender unit itself and there is nothing.
Well pumps on route and im picking up the solus pro tomorrow, I'm going to try and force a pump test using the solus diagnostics tools to see if it'll run in test if it doesn't then I know its dead. If it does run however then I may need to lean toward EWS but I'll deal with that when it comes to it.
Speaking of EWS/Keys etc. Anyone have any idea of my original posts issues around the key locking the car but no unlocking it, Manually unlocking causes hazards to flash I'm assuming this is how it should be when it's locked remotely and opened manually? I'm going to throw the button under my scope and see if any solder has cracked on the button itself.
- EDIT: Think I found the lock/unlock culprit, Underside of the battery has come off the holder. Couldn't tell as the lock button is above it it works, but the unlock button is on the other end so wasn't pushing down on it enough it seems, will refix and test again!
