If it won't crank it's either really dirty or something is broken. It was surprising how much debris was up in mine, pretty much an entire tree was back in there. It cranked though, until it got uneven and stuck open.

You should not try to crank it very hard through the resistance, you'll regret it. Just try to clean/lube it in tilt mode a bit first, or consider removing the glass for a better inspection/cleaning.

You likely are going to have to get it repaired / do the repair when you have time. There are so many cheap little parts that can break. Probably one of those metal arms is out of it's place, or one of htose plastic locks w/ the metal springs is stuck and not locking/unlocking.
