Folding Mirror Reviseted. Hoping for new insight.

I know it has been done to death in fact I started a treat about it in 2010.

But the problem have evolved and what to see if I can tap into the wealth of knowledge here.

So back in 2010 I had the standard problem. The mirror would fold in and immediately unfold. I did not notice the mirror being wobbling back then. So I did the standard thing pop the cap and took out the limit switch and put it back in (shoot in the dark) and it worked at least for a little while and then it when back. No big deal back then don't really use it anyways.

Then one day I notice the driver side mirror being wobbly. Either I bump into it or someone else did or a cat jumped on it. Out of desperation I just press the fold and unfold button. And that tighten the mirror back up. And the mirror stay folding in. So since it was working I thought it was a good idea to keep the mirror folded to protect it when car is not in use.

But I can't keep the mirror folded all the time because it works on an off. And some time I notice the mirror wobbly so I just cycle the mirror and it took care of the problem until yesterday.

I notice now when I fold the mirror out I hear a dump, dump sound and the mirror jumps. And it did not fix the wobbly problem anymore. No issue folding the mirror in. No issue on the passenger side.

What do you folks think it is. I am think it is the limit switch issue. I am thinking the limit switch is not activating or activating at the right position when the mirror is folding out. Thus the dump, dump sound and the mirror jumps.

Hope someone run into the same problem and have a solution.
