Feel free to add me to the list

Hi,

I finally feel comfortable that my new to me X5 is not too far gone.

I found a 2001 5 speed X5 with over 300k miles on facebook marketplace in poor shape and negotiated a price of $1200.

the clearcoat has pretty much flaked off on all horizontal surfaces, the driver's side door card is in pieces, brakes do not work, the drivers rear window regulator is not working, the catalytic converters had been cut off, all 4 tires were bald and not holding air, 4:3 nav radio has a smashed screen and the DSP and amp seem to be not working, among other things.

So far I have done the following:
welded the exhaust manifold and catalytic converters back together and replaced all 4 o2 sensors.
installed a set of used tires.
discovered that the brakes didn't work because the front calipers were gone, so installed new calipers, pads, wear sensors and brake lines.

Now that I've got it running and driving, I think it is safe from the scrap yard and I'm overall pretty happy with it.

My remaining issues:
for some reason, the previous owner cut the wires going to the rear view mirror (replacement mirror on order)
passenger side auto dimming mirror has leaked all of it's "dimming fluid" to the bottom 2/3 of the mirror (new mirror on order)
new android radio and passive speaker crossovers (still need to install)
drivers seat leather is too worn to save.
driver's door panel still needs replaced.
need to install new window regulator and replace the plastic window retention pieces with some I've already 3d printed.
getting an air suspension inactive message (the pump runs briefly when the battery is hooked up and the truck doesn't sag at all, sensor maybe?)
the transmission is difficult to put in reverse, the gear shifter is floppy and it's very easy to miss 3rd and go straight into 5th. I'll have to look into how to fix this, but I'm also tempted to see if its possible to swap in the 6 speed from the post facelift truck.
haven't figured out the cargo area cover yet. not sure if mine is broken.
replaced the hose between the secondary air pump and valve with a rubber hose and 3d printed adapter.
handle for the cargo floor board is broken.
center console armrest latch does not work.
need to sew a new shift gaiter.
need to replace some of the instrument cluster bulbs and replace the LCD screen (missing pixels)
missing windhield washer reservoir, passenger front wheel well liner, air duct that sits above the radiator upper support, tow hook cover, front kidney grills, and center console cup holder sliding cover.
glued most of the door panel back together. for now
remaining codes from my Foxwell NT510 are for the AUC sensor, and the auxiliary water pump, the electric radiator fan does not come on when I trigger it using the scanner.

Thats all for now. Most of the issues seem manageable and I look forward to painting the X5 and getting it back to it's former glory
