Either we don’t trust our x5s on the long trips any longer, or we have newer, more comfortable cars now!
Just got back from bird hunting in Iowa. The x was a beast, again. 1900ish miles round trip and some really foul wx. We went through KC the day after the snow storm and saw cars and semis off the road every couple of miles. The Quaife LSD was fantastic and the “new” transfer case performed like…well, new. Which is to say that it didn’t grenade itself due to poor workmanship!
Iowa was a high of 21 degrees over the 3 days I was there, but no precipitation thankfully. Unfortunately it was a very poor year for both pheasant and quail in southern IA. Still great to see the dogs doing what they love, and the x5 was a ton of fun. Other than having to fill it up way too often.
A good rinse today at home to get the salt out of all the crevices, and a serious vacuum to get the dog hair and dirt out of the inside.
