I'm getting pi**ed off with this now!

My car (2009 35d) runs rough at 1300-1700rpm in normal auto mode, if I knock over to sport mode, the revs rise and the rough running disappears.

So far I've cleaned the egr valve, replaced map sensor and air filter. I've tried running MAF tests on ista but I can't get it to work properly.

I saw a post somewhere on how to use ista to check for carbon build up but that's not an option on my version.

Any ideas what to try next?
