Help! Rear shock bump stock fitment?

I'm installing Monroe OESpectrum shocks in my 06 E53.

I ordered the KYB brand bump stop dust boot kit.

The dust boot is really narrow and the bump stop is as long as the unthreaded part of the shaft.

I decided to reuse the OEM boots with the plastic lower cup, and installed the dust boot so the entire bump stop is covered by the boot and the boot is attached to the plastic lower and the metal upper cup.

I see some pics that leave part of the bump stop exposed? Seems covering it up would aid in longevity.

Is it ok the bump stop is so long? Am I installing it correctly?

Also if there's any tips on getting the upper shock mount off the shaft when it's seized - my driver side is a real PITA. The passenger side lower bolt came off with an induction bolt heater. The driver side took a sawzall with a carbide blade and an angle grinder. When the rain passes I'll try to use the induction heater on the metal sleeve in the mount. I need the cups and boot!

Thanks!
