From what I remember, the headliner cards don't come out easy. I had the cassette out for disassembly, and sent them out to a local guy to cover in new fabric, along with the headliner. $400 for nice roof fabric. I repaired the cassette, reinstalled it without the headliner, to test for operation / leaks. Then when I got the cards back I had to take it out again, take the glass out and it took me a whole afternoon to get the headliner cards in and working. I don't know if you could do much without pulling the cassette, covering the edges won't be easy in place.
